Unfortunately, due to a huge oversight on our part the trail was complete mud. Oh, did we mention the trail was completely uphill? We got about 20 feet up the trail and after some serious slipping and sliding we decided to call it quits. So we went into town and ran errands instead.
However, later in the week we had some more excitement. The salmon have started to run in our streams and with the salmon come the bears. The past few weeks we have had one grizzly bear in particular that likes to hang out and eat our fish. She is not aggressive in any way, she just goes about her day. Often she can be seen off our viewing decks splashing around in the water, playing with driftwood and trying to catch salmon. We were lucky enough to catch her the other day and got some great shots of her that we wanted to share.

That was quite an afternoon watching her splashing around in the water. After that we got back to our regular lives and await the arrival of Sydney Sipos. More to come in about a week.
